I read some exciting changes to the default behaviour of MS Project that I was not aware of in the following MSDN blog post: (http://blogs.msdn.com/b/project/archive/2010/10/22/tips-and-tricks-copy-custom-views-filters-tables-and-other-elements-to-other-projects.aspx)

That should make life much easier!
