EPM Partners has worked with a diversity of Australian organisations in many industries. Through this experience it’s become clear that organisations in the same industry vertical deliver project portfolio management in similar ways and therefore configure and use their PPM tools in similar ways. These similarities are more obvious in organisations within the same industry vertical, than between organisations that adopt a specific project management standard like PRINCE2, PMBoK, etc.
EPM Partners has identified common similarities and best-practice PPM within industry verticals. These are found in: templates, metadata, forms, governance workflows, key performance indicators (KPIs), reports, integration points, and standards for portfolio management, financial management, resource management, program management and change management.
With this understanding, we’ve built a range of pre-configured components. We call them Verticals, and we are adding to these every day.
Verticals make an excellent start point for new customers within a vertical industry. It could be that the Vertical delivers exactly what you need, in which case it can be deployed as-is. Most likely, these components will need some fine-tuning to deliver exactly what’s required. Ultimately, the approach saves time, effort and cost, and ensures that the PPM tool deployed incorporates industry best-practice. That’s a win win !
EPM Partners experience in the implementation of Microsoft PPM for utility companies around Australia, including Melbourne Water, Goulburn-Murray Water, AGL, Delta Energy, Energy Australia and Jemena, has enabled us to establish a baseline of functionalities for organisations in this vertical specifically around forms, portfolio management, financial management, governance workflow and integration with ERP platforms. This experience, knowledge and the components-built can be used in new client projects within the vertical.
EPM Partners is now building a pre-configured PPM platform for clients in this vertical that will include predefined templates, configurations and reports. The vision is to make this pre-configured instance available to new utilities customers. We will then fine-tune to meet individual customer needs.
We’d be really pleased to talk to other utilities customers to take advantage of this program.
EPM Partners has an experience in the implementation of Microsoft PPM solutions for companies that manage large-scale capital works programs with companies like OneSteel, BlueScope Steel and DTZ. This has enabled us to establish a baseline of functionalities for organisations in this space, specifically around managing resources availability, tracking progress, monitoring performance against plan, team collaboration, governance for change management, and integration with ERP platforms and capital management systems.
We are building a pre-configured PPM Capital Works platform for customers in this space. It will include predefined templates, configurations and reports.
EPM Partners are looking for more customers that manage large-scale capital works programs to be involved in this program.
Our experience in implementing Microsoft PPM for IT departments in companies like AMP, Australian Customs and Echo Entertainment, has enabled us to establish a baseline of functionalities for organisations in this sector, specifically around demand management on IT resources, execution of IT project portfolios in alliance with IT strategies, improving the success of IT projects (deliverables, cost, scope and time) and analysing and monitoring IT work (project and non-project).
We are building a pre-configured PPM platform for IT sector clients that will include predefined templates, configurations and reports.
EPM Partners are looking for more IT sector clients to be involved in this program.
We have significant experience in the implementation of Microsoft PPM for tertiary education organisations in Australia, such as Victoria University, Macquarie University, University on New England, Queensland University of Technology, Australian National University and La Trobe University. This has enabled us to establish a baseline of functionalities for organisations in this vertical, specifically around reducing total cost of ownership by consolidating the number of projects and portfolios, risk mitigation and management (across business entities and portfolios) and integration with ERP platforms.
We are currently constructing a pre-configured PPM platform for tertiary education customers that will include predefined templates, configurations and reports.
EPM Partners is looking for more tertiary education customers to get involved in this program.
